What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is the adaptation of Yoga practices for people with health or fitness challenges or particular health conditions. As a Yoga Therapist, I formulate specific Yoga practices such as postures, breathing techniques, mindfulness & relaxation techniques to help relieve suffering, manage & improve health conditions / injuries and promote health & wellbeing. Each session is tailored to the needs of a small group or to the individual to promote healing.

Medical research shows that Yoga Therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several ailments.

We offer Therapeutic Yoga classes each week in a small group setting. You will receive a 1-2-1 telephone consultation prior to beginning class so your Teacher, Maeve, can best understand your individual needs and how she can support you in class. Please see the “Classes” tab of this website for information on the class day, time & pricing.

If you don’t feel ready to join a class or it does not suit you, 1-2-1 Yoga Therapy classes can be arranged with you. In a private Yoga Therapy session, the first one is 75mins and includes a full patient history to best ascertain the reason for the session and how we can best work together. Subsequent sessions are usually 1hr. Please make contact for pricing info for private Yoga Therapy sessions.
