Yoga for Back Pain Relief program - bookings reopen in August 2024
I'd like to extend an invite to anyone reading this, who has ongoing, long-term back pain to join me in September 2024, and participate in my specialist Yoga for Back Pain Relief program in Tralee. I only offer this twice a year so this is your chance to learn how to banish your lower back pain long-term!

This invitation is to join a 13-week Yoga for Back Pain Relief program with me and up to 7 others, like you, who understand how you feel. Also suitable for sciatica, pre/post back surgery & chronic, long-term back pain.

This program is a specialised, evidence – based 13-week Course (12 classes plus one week in the middle for you to practice at home to build confidence and habit). This course gently and progressively aims to help you get back to being more active again, by empowering you to help yourself to improved comfort, health and well-being for now and the future. Backache is extremely common issue, and the latest research and guidelines show the best results in reducing back pain comes from learning how confidently manage it with appropriate exercises.  This course offers a gentle, effective, enjoyable, and appropriate approach to support you in doing just that.

It’s research proven effective!

The University of York (Department of Health Sciences, York Trials Unit) ran one of the largest yoga randomised controlled trials, funded by Arthritis Research UK, where teachers ran specialised 13-week courses in five areas of the UK.  The positive results showed YHLB to be safe, specialised and highly effective in reducing lower term back pain. They also showed this yoga program was better for relieving lower back pain than manipulation by physiotherapists / chiropractors / osteopaths, exercise taught by physiotherapists, and many other common interventions. Taught by a registered Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs Teacher, Yoga Therapist & Pilates Instructor who has personal experience of lower back pain. I will ask you to commit to practicing yoga at home between classes. & you will have all the resources & info to do this with ease.

It is not a quick fix, it is a long term solution that you are empowered to do for yourself. This is a life-changing approach that shifts you into the driver’s seat and equips you to manage and reduce your own pain, stress and discomfort using ways to improve posture, movements and mental focus. And we teach and courage you to relax daily – imagine that! In the research during this program design, participants still enjoyed the benefits of this program a year later after starting this exact course!  Plus we only take 10 people each year into this course, this means you get lots of individual support.

Access to my experience & expertise:
 I studied extensively on the topic of lower back pain and I'm a registered Yoga for Lower Backs Teacher. I have a diploma in Yoga Therapy (adaptation of yoga for injury, health conditions etc) and a Pilates Teacher. I am also the bearer of several herniated discs, grumpy fascet joints and a sticky lower spine! Years of sitting at an office desk has me all bent out of shape! And I have learned how to manage this extremely well - what movements suit me, how to strengthen my body, how to get unstuck, what stretches make me go mmmmm and what not to do too (too much sitting and stressing out!) So I have a great understanding of the theory and practice, as well as alot of empathy for those who experience back pain so I'm very well placed to support you if you decide to join me. 

Using the exact tools in this program, I have improved my back pain and movement patterns, learned to manage my stress, eliminate my need for anti-inflammatories and improved my overall wellbeing.

In this program you will learn skills to improve your health for the long-term.  I recommend discussing this program with your GP or consultant so you can feel confident this approach is right for you. I are happy to chat to your GP about this program if they are not yet aware of it. Other benefits may arise from participating in this program for example, several previous clients stopped needing to use anti-inflammatory medication, another no longer felt the need to use anti-depressants, others returned to activities and hobbies they loved as their pain reduced and allowed them to join in once more. Yoga Class Format

The 12 x 75 minute classes are based on learning straight forward, foundational yoga poses.  Props such as a yoga block, blanket or belt are used to aid effectiveness and to ensure absolute comfort.  Each week we revise the learnings and progress at a slow and steady pace. As your Teacher, I am highly trained in this specialist area and you are in safe hands. I will be there before and after class to give you extra support/advice on an individual level should you need to chat. Relaxation, mindfulness and self-care techniques will also be shared.

Great value investment:
The current investment for this program is €250 which is seriously reasonable when you see the difference it will make to your health, headspace, emotional balance and overall wellbeing. This includes €220 (€18.33 per class) + an additional €30 for your Course manuals, book, resource pack and relaxation tracks. A total of €250 for 12 classes, support during the middle week of home practice, your course book, manual, printed materials and relaxation tracks.
